When was the last time a private corporation in America did something strictly for the good of America?

I always see Republicans bashing the government and saying how they can never do anything right or always have ulterior motives.. and then always talking about the private sector like the CEO and Board of Directors of "American" companies (I put that in quotes as almost all major companies are multinational now) are like Jesus and his Twelve Disciples of Nationality... looking out for America above all else... I saw a story yesterday about how Exxon is paying $0 taxes in America due to offshore subsidies... so where exactly is this glowing patriotism by corporations that makes conservatives feel they're better than the evil G word?
