How do I get him to tell me how he feels??

I've been seeing this guy, whom has really grown on me. The problem is I havent dated in well over 4 years, and I know that he has only dated one other person prior to meeting me. Weve been on at least 5 dates and we have a lot of fun hanging out. The problem that keeps persisting is that I am sarcastic and so is he, mine is a defense mechanism which I use in place of my feelings, but I find myself being more open with him because he's sarcastic just like me. I dont know when to take him seriously. Its hard to get him to open up, I really like him and I know he likes me but I feel I need that varification from him so that im not wasting my time. How do I get him to tell me how he feels? I feel like if the witty banter goes on im just going to drive myself crazy over ysing the situation. Im trying to take it slow because I REALLY like him, but should I jsut come out and tell him how I feel??
