How do I keep the ripplesnin my jeans?

I just washed a pair of brand new mens jeans with ripples in them. I washed them with Other colors and used cold water. I put the spin speed on high and then I put them in the dryer on medium heat for eighty minutes. When they came out the ripples were gone. How Do I put the ripples back on and keep them that way?
